Syrup Presentation
Each 5 ml contains:
Cyproheptadine Hydrochloride 2 mg
Cyproheptadine is histamine blocker, it also blocks serotonin. It produces antiemetic effect by blocking the central muscarinic receptors.
Indications

Mechanism of action
It competitively inhibits the binding of the free histamine to its receptor and
prevents its negative symptom, cyproheptadine also inhibits the serotonin in
smooth muscles of the small intestine thus stimulate appetite.
Side Effects
- Drowsiness
- Dizziness
- Insomnia
- Blurring of vision
- Loss of coordination
Contraindication
- Contraindicated in closed angle glaucoma
- Contraindicated in high BP

Used only if benefits outweigh the risk

Overdose of this syrup produces hallucinations
